INNOVATION SR SOFTWARE ENGINEER       Dec 16’ - May 18'

•  Research, guide, and execute product solutions from inception to completion. 

•  Manage the planning, architecture, and implementation of new loan pricing and eligibility ecosystem running side-by-side with legacy, allowing A/B testing and gradual on-boarding. Includes rewrite of 20k+ rules, new pricing source, and a preprocessing philosophy 

•  Building of native iOS apps and supporting AWS cloud back-end services, featuring authentication, chat, loan status, push notifications, loan document submission, and user activity streaming/tracking.

 

INNOVATION ENGINEERING TEAM  LEAD     May 16’ - Current

•  Manage definition and direction of all application engineering owned by the Innovation group. 

•  Originate, vet, and assist with defining new projects aligning with Innovations goals and vision.

•  Prioritize work, level of effort, and direction of development. 

•  Collaborate with data and systems architects, business operations, product owners, front-end developers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to ensure project expectations are aligned and met.

 

JAVA DEVELOPER II & III      Jun 13’ - Dec 16’

•  Served as subject matter expert for several intricate and business critical systems, including loan pricing systems, pricing sheet distribution system (11k+ daily deliveries), wholesale discount system, and public interface serving as the primary source of revenue.

•  Driving force to introduce DAO layer and ORM into legacy code base. Migrating away from embedded JDBC calls.

•  Hiring team member (seniors, team leads, mid-levels, and junior levels)

•  Led stash implementation, decreasing the development cycle for developers and increasing visibility of code and change management.

•  Played a key role in planning radical large scale improvements across multiple teams, maintaining backwards compatibility, across several areas of concern, including Java, 3rd party services, database, EDI, and reporting.

•  Reverse engineered an imaging system database in preparation for custom image viewing application.

DIGITAL SIGNAGE

Purpose: Provide web interface with ability to upload and display promotional posters & videos at scale, only paying for web services during management operation.

Solution: Used/Using a combination of AWS S3 Buckets, routing/API gateway, javascript lambdas, & S3 triggers.

Result: A complete server-less and extremely cost effective hosting solution.

ENTERTAINMENT VENUE RENTALS

Purpose: Provide a web interface, with the appropriate back end infrastructure and admin capabilities, to facilitate booking of booths & tables for multi- city venues.  

Challenge: Unique business requirements made available commercial systems unsuitable.

Result : In the first year of operation, revenue doubled while reducing staff time by 90%.
